My name is Allison Collis and I am really proud to be the Headteacher of this fantastic school.
I hope this website gives you a small insight into our wonderful world and all the nurturing and learning opportunities we provide. If you require a more hands on view, please do not hesitate to contact us and arrange a personal tour. We pride ourselves on our exceptional caring ethos, our children's amazing attitude to learning, our extremely happy and dedicated team and our ever improving academic results. We are always proud to welcome others into our magical world whenever possible. Nurture and well-being are our initial priorities because we believe that happy children and energised staff achieve the very best they can - it's a simple equation.
Our ethos and rules are simple;
Choose your attitude - be positive and have a go;
Work hard and challenge yourself, the possibilities are endless
Make someone's day.
The Chestnuts' team live by these values each and every day.
Chestnuts' children and staff learn British Sign Language as part of their daily school routine. This promotes understanding and essential communication with our hearing impaired children who travel from all over Milton Keynes to be with us each day. We are proud to be the specialist provision for hearing impaired primary age children in Milton Keynes. BSL also supports hearing children who may have additional needs as it removes a communication barrier for so many children. Over 25 staff are currently attending evening classes to gain level 1 or level 2 qualifications in BSL.
We are delighted to offer a free breakfast club which is open to all Chestnuts children from Foundation to Year 6 each day. Breakfast club opens at 8am and can be accessed from the St Georges Road entrance. We also have Kidsplay providing paid after school and holiday club facilities on site until 6pm each day.
We constantly seek World Class learning opportunities and we have two minibuses to enable us to take children out of the school setting as much as possible. Outdoor learning is our passion. We are the regional Global Learning Expert centre and an accredited UNICEF rights respecting school. We also have specialist Music and PE teachers as we believe in developing the whole child and nurturing interests, enthusiasm and talent through multiple intelligence development.
There is so much more to say - growing from 240 to nearly 400 children in a few years speaks for itself, so if you are interested in joining us, please contact the school on 01908 373748 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Welcome to a world class and unique education experience.
I look forward to welcoming you soon.
