Safeguarding at Chestnuts

Safeguarding is everybody’s business. Chestnuts has a moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.

Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health and/or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.

Designated Safeguard Leads (DSL)

Chestnuts is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a culture of vigilance to identify, report to a DSL, record on CPOMS, offer help and support as early as possible if a concern for safety and welfare arises.
